Obituary For Zane Wilson
Ronald Zane Wilson, 78, of Sedalia, MO passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at EW Thompson, Sedalia. He was born on December 1, 1942 in Shanks, WV the son of George and Oneta (Heare) Wilson, who preceded him in death. On May 15, 1992 in Bentonville, AR, he was united in marriage to Linda Michelle Lawson, who survives of the home. They were sealed in the Washington DC Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on May 15, 2005. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Elaine (and Alan) Cook; a sister, Shirley Capretti; a brother Stanley Wilson; and two grandchildren, Kevin and Meghan Cook.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Wilson; and a daughter, Diane Wilson.
Ronald was known as Zane to his family and friends, beginning his career in journalism writing for a local paper while in high school. After graduating from West Virginia University, he was a political reporter, editor and publisher, and later owner of a weekly newspaper in New Mexico. He also served a period of time as a Public Relations Director for the Pennsylvania State Republican Party. Zane loved hunting, fishing, gardening and being active in his church. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1992. When Zane attended church meetings or went to the Temple, his eyes always sparkled with peace and joy. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1201 West Broadway Blvd., Sedalia. Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time. Friends are invited to a catered meal at the church following service. In lieu of flowers, Zane requests that you spend that donation on family, friends or someone in need. Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
