Obituary For Wilma Knight

Wilma Jean Knight, 81, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia, Missouri. She was born on February 21, 1935 in Sweet Springs, Missouri, the daughter of Ray Hisle and Elsie Rae (King) Elwell, who preceded her in death.

On April 5, 1953 in Sweet Springs, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Joseph L Knight, who also preceded her in death.

Wilma worked as in interior decorator for 30 years. She loved reading books, spending time with her grandchildren, and flower gardening. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Wilma is survived by three children, Dianna Lynn Kindle (Riley) of Kalispell, MT, Joseph Douglas Knight (Shawn) of Sedalia, MO, and Barbara Elaine Treese (John) of Bonner Springs, KS; one brother, Terry Douglas Elwell (Pat) of Independence, MO; six grandchildren, Julie, Jesse, Holly, Sarah, Megan, and Josi; and ten great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Eugene Elwell; and a grandson, Adam Riley Kindle.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dennis Harper, officiating.

The family will welcome friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the chapel.

Burial will be in Sweet Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Terry Elwell, Doug Knight, Zel White, Matt Elwell, Greg Elwell, and Corey Taber.

Honorary bearers will be Jesse Kindle, Ronald "Boogie" Craighead and Charlie Craighead.

Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice or Alzheimer Association.
