Willie Ivy, Sr.

Willie Curtis Ivy, Sr., of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Bothwell Regional Health Center. He was born on October 10, 1940 in Jackson, Mississippi, a son of Willie and Essie (Braggs) Ivy.

On October 11, 1974 at Lake Tahoe, Nevada, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Batts.

Willie loved to go fishing, hunting and collecting coins.

Besides his wife, he is survived by five children, Shannon Ivy of Sedalia, Willie C. Ivy, Jr. of Sedalia, Charlene Ivy Christian (John) of Stockton, California, Vernel Ivy of Stockton, California, and Lamarr Ivy, of Stockton, California; One brother, Earzo Ivy (Ruth), of Sedalia; seven sisters; and a host grandchildren, nieces and nephews including DeAnte Marshall, Steven Ivy, Kurtes Marshall, and Gaylon Marshall, Jr.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two son, Russell Ivy and Fred Ivy and two sisters.

He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.
