William Robert "Bob" Brown Sr., 86, of Sedalia passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. He was born on April 7, 1932 in Sedalia, the son of George A and Cleo L (Thompson) Brown, who preceded him in death.
On May 26, 1951 in Sedalia he was united in marriage to Gloria G. Flores, who resides of the home.
Bob was an avid sports fan. He loved to referee volleyball and basketball, umpire softball, baseball. This was Bob's way of giving back to the sports he loved. Bob served as the Sedalia Park's Department Director for many years. He lived most all of his life in Sedalia.
In addition to his wife Gloria, he is survived by three children, Linda Messerli (Bill), Kathy Brown, and Bob Brown, Jr. (Sandra) all of Sedalia; five grandchildren, Michelle, Brian, Alisha, Melanie, and Gloria Rachelle; seven great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Chris Robert Brown; two sisters, Jerri Bittle and Patti Rothwell.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jim Downing, officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Inurnment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Honorary bearers will be Gary Crnic, Dr. William Woolery, Sam Meehan, Ron Sorenson, Daryl Cook, and John and Becky Marquess.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
