Obituary For William Green

William Robert Joseph “Billy Bob” Green, 92, of Smithton passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. He was born on October 15, 1922 in Sedalia, a son of M.O. and Gertrude (Imhauser) Green, Jr.

On November 11, 1950 in Noel, MO he was united in marriage to Frances Jean Wright, who passed away on April 7, 2010. In Smithton, MO on June 7, 1977, he was united in marriage to Melva K. (May) Woodford, who survives of the home.

He attended The University of Missouri, Columbia. Billy Bob worked as a telegraphy operator for the MO Pacific Railroad. He also was a cattle and row crop farmer in the Smithton area. He enjoyed Coonhunting and watching baseball. He was a member of Smithton Methodist Church. Billy Bob served his country honorably in the US Navy during WWII.

Besides his wife, he is survived by five daughters from his first marriage, Sydney Mills (Bill) of Lake Ozark, MO, Teresa Robins (Jim) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Barbara Little (Mont) of St. Louis, MO, Donna McWilliams (Rick) of St. Louis, MO and Deana Anderson (Ray) of Houston, TX; two sisters, Gertrude Sites of Warrensburg, MO and Marilyn Duke (Don) of Memphis, TN; one brother, Matt Green (Barbara) of Smithton, MO; ten grandchildren, Lindsey, Ashley, Jacqueline, Ryan, Laura, Elle, Nicolas, Kristin, Chase and Paige; three great grandchildren, Cash, Colt and Sadie.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, George R. Green.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, November 10, 2014 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with Steve Schilb officiating.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the funeral chapel.

Burial will be at Smithton Cemetery with VFW Post 2591 conducting full military honors.

Pallbearers will be three grandsons, Ryan Kneibert, Chase Wightman and Nicolas Little; and Matt (Pedee) Green, Jamie Haley, and Jared Leathers.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Smithton Cemetery or the Missouri Coonhunters Association in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
