William Dale Franken

William Dale Franken, 76, of Sedalia, MO passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at Rest Haven Convalescent Home in Sedalia. He was born on October 30, 1942 in Sedalia, the son of William George and Jessee Naydne (Burton) Franken.

On March 6, 1972 in High Ridge, MO he was united in marriage to Patricia Fern Merriott, who survives of the home.

William was a loyal veteran and honorably served the country he loved in the US Army. He faithfully volunteered at the MO Veteran's Home in Warrensburg and was a great friend to all veterans. He worked and traveled for many years building Western Auto stores. William was a very strong man and a master builder. He could fix anything and took great pride in everything he did. William really enjoyed watching Fox News and sharing the company of his dog. He also loved his family with all his heart and especially enjoyed watching the grandkids play on the swing set he built for them.

Besides his wife Patricia, of 47 years, he is survived by his mother, Naydne Young of Sedalia; son, William Brian Franken of London England; daughter, Crystal Franken Johnson (Steve) of Sedalia; two brothers, John Franken of Kansas City, MO and Steve Franken of Springfield, MO; two sisters, Carolyn Erfurth of Kansas City, MO and Linda Prout of Springfield, MO; two step-daughters, Shelley Marshall (Steve) of Holden, MO and Cheryl Cooper of Sedalia; four grandchildren, William Franken, Sofia Johnson, Clarice Johnson and Tiffany Croy; two step-grandsons, Stephen Rauzi and Daniel Rauzi; and four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Jeffery, Lyric and William Franken.

He was preceded in death by his father, William George Franken.

Graveside service and burial will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville with full military honors.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 9:45 am, Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO.

Pallbearers will be Crystal Franken Johnson, John Franken, William Franken, John Bus, Joe Young, and Bob Zimmerschied.

Honorary bearers will be Sofia Johnson, Clarice Johnson, and Steve Franken.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the MO Veteran's Home in Warrensburg in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
