William "Bill" John Ficken Jr., 83, of Sedalia passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 at Good Samaritan Care Center in Cole Camp. He was born on April 17, 1933 in Sedalia the son of William John and Laura Adeline (Nichols) Ficken Sr., who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn Eads.
On December 30, 2011 in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Sandra Grace (Muller) Ritzo, who resides of the home.
Bill was a member of Abundant Harvest Worship Center, and the Sedalia 40 & 8. He worked as a repairman for National Cash Register (NCR) for 35 years, retiring in 1995. He served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. During his active retirement years he enjoyed doing prison ministry at the Tipton Correctional Center.
In addition to his wife Sandra, he is also survived by a son, William John Ficken, III and his fiance Lorita Miller of Rogersville, MO; a daughter, Laura Catherine Drexler and her husband Mike of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Anna, Jennifer, Michael and Dakota; three step children, Tammy Lanam and her husband Scott of South Lyon, MI, Jennifer Crane and her husband Steven of Sedalia and Gaylon Ritzo and his wife Amy of Sedalia; eleven step grandchildren, Austin, Hailey, Kirsten, Zachary, Gage, Erin, Alexandra, Blake, Kobey, Miguel and Alexis; and a step great granddaughter, Maddison.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastors Tony and Merry Kroeger officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Burial will be at Smithton Cemetery. Full military honors wil be conducted at graveside by the VFW Post 2591, Sedalia and The Missouri Army National Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice or to Abundant Harvest Worship Center in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
