Cleo "Wayne" Choate, 68, formerly of Sedalia passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL. He was born on August 13, 1946 in Indianola, IA, a son of John Wesley Choate and Ruby Ruth Garrison, who both preceded him in death.
He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting and barbeques. He also loved going to auctions and bowling. Wayne loved his grandchildren and especially enjoyed going to their ballgames.
He is survived by three children, Cleawni (Earl) Choate of Sedalia, Wade (Ashley) Choate of Canton, IL and Cierra Lawler of Detroit, MI; one sister Sharon (Bud) Carter of Rossville, KS; four brothers, Harold “Bill” (Carol) Choate of Gillette, WY, Robert “Bob” Choate of Moline, IL, Ronnie (Sharon) Choate of Des Moines, IA and Richard “Dick” (Babs) Choate of Houston, MO; four grandchildren, Darrius, Elijah, Devan and Stefan.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 19, 2014 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with Rev. Dan Hankins officiating.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 6:30 until 8:00 pm, also at the funeral chapel.
Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia.
Pallbearers will be Atu Gilmore, AJ Gilmore, Jay Welton, Bob Barnett, Mark Lawler and Donnie Reeves.
Honorary bearers will be Wayne's nephews and nieces.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the family in care of the funeral chapel.
