Wallace Dean Wasson, 56, of Sedalia, MO, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 27, 2024. He was born on September 11, 1967, in Sedalia, the son of Billy Dean Wasson, who preceded him in death, and Elizabeth Anne (Miller) Wasson, who resides in Sedalia.
On May 11, 1996, in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Julie Ann Voight, who resides in the home.
Wally, a 1985 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, found solace in planting flowers outside his home every summer. He grew up in Ivy Bend, MO, and always dreamed of returning to the 'lake life.' From a young age, he was a hard-working man, always concentrating on making a better life for his family. Wally worked in several roles throughout his life, including Construction, ABM, Sandor Corp (for several years), and Wire-co for 22 years before retiring in 2017 due to health reasons. He spent much of his time working on computers and electronics. Computers were always of great interest and he was frequently the one many turned to when having issues or needing help. Wally also enjoyed watching wrestling and Kansas City Chiefs football. Family was everything to Wally, especially Julie and his children, Kayla and Travis. He found a shared joy of watching wrestling with Kayla and common interests in guns with his son Travis. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandson, Aiden, his 'itty-bitty buddy.' Aiden was Wally's world! He became even closer to him after losing his daughter, Kayla. Wally took care of Aiden almost daily, even on the day everything turned upside down.
In addition to his wife Julie and mother Liz (Wasson) Craig (Larry), Wally is survived by a son, Travis Wasson, of the home; a sister, Mary White (Mark) of Sedalia; a brother, Bruce Wasson (Amy) of Sedalia; a grandson, Aiden Tobaben; a son-in-law, Mitch Tobaben; two nieces, Shawna Schultz (Dwight), Rhiannon Dickerson; two nephews, Gavin and Ryan Wasson; a close uncle, Leonard Miller (Melissa); an aunt, Marilyn Miller; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his father, Wally was preceded in death by a daughter, Kayla (Wasson) Tobaben.
