Obituary For Velma Bottcher

Velma LaFrances Bottcher, 92, of Sedalia passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia, MO. She was born on December 2, 1924 in Syracuse, MO the daughter of Lester and Addie (Smith) Salmons, who preceded her in death.

On June 28, 1941 in Syracuse, MO she was united in marriage to Kalo Bottcher, who preceded her in death on April 14, 2004.

Velma worked several different jobs, including Town and Country Shoes, Lamy's Manufacturing and InterState Studios. She enjoyed collecting dolls and especially loved taking care of her family with her husband.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Sutherland (Larry) of Shaumburg IL and Judy Pugh of Sedalia; two sons, Jim Bottcher (Diane) of Sedalia and Todd Bottcher of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Lee Sutherland, Brett Sutherland, Michelle Kirkpatrick and Gary C. Pugh; seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Kalo and her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Donnie, Ted, Cullie and Douglas Salmons; two sisters, Ruby Perkins and Helen Draffen.

Graveside service and burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday October 4, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Dan Hankins, officiating.

Pallbearers will be Lee Sutherland, Brian Kirkpatrick, Gary Pugh and Mike Pugh.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
