Velda Louise Hale, 88, of Sedalia passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center. She was born on January 26, 1928 in Windsor, MO the daughter of Rolla and Fay (Alexander) Sole, who preceded her in death.
On July 19, 1946 in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Talmadge Hale, who also has preceded her in death on February 7, 2002.
Velda was a member of Stewart Avenue Church of Christ, Sedalia. She worked along side her husband Talmadge, as bookkeeper and upholstery seamstress in the family business for 45 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially with her two granddaughters.
She is survived by a daughter, Lina Mahnken and her husband Dan of Sedalia; two granddaughters, Jana Mahnken and Emily Mahnken of Sedalia; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Talmadge and her parents, she is also preceded in death by a brother, John Sole.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Minister Robert Jones and Lemoyne Dotson, officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. at the chapel.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery .
Pallbearers will be John Russell Sole, Jim Sole, Gary Sole, Phillip Sole, John Fowler and Jene Arnett.
Honorary bearers will be Karen Fowler, Kaye Mills, and all the members of Stewart Avenue Church of Christ congregation.
In memory of her husband, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
