Obituary For Tyrone Curtis Carter

Tyrone Curtis Carter, 69, of Sedalia, MO, passed away November 9, 2022, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. He was born on April 11, 1953, in Sedalia, MO, the son of Bennie M. Carter and Helen D. Bruce ( Ollie M. Carter), who preceded him in death.

On November 4, 2019 in Sedalia, MO. Tyrone was united in marriage to Lisa Carter, who resides in the home.

Tyrone graduated from Smith-Cotton High School. He worked a lot with the EMA, police, fire department, and school district in the community. He retired after 30 years from Sedalia School District #200. He was an active member of Bethel Family Church, where he devoted much time to service. He loved chasing storms and woodworking.

Besides his wife, Tyrone is survived by six children, Timothy Hall, Maurice Byrd Jr., Christopher Byrd, Autumn Byrd, Felicia Byrd, and Steven Ivy; 22 grandchildren; brother, Allen Carter; sister, Debra Carter; nieces, Denise Poindexter, Tonya Jackson (James), Paula Brown; nephews, Charles Goforth, Vincent Miller, Andre Willis; three great-nieces, Teyonna Randolph, Brandi Randolph, Alexis Goforth, great-nephew, Tre Gravitt, a great-great- niece, Marlie Allen; and a host of cousins including Vickey Spruell, and Sharon Jackson.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Linda Goforth; great-nephew, Kelly Jacobs; great-great-nephew Warrior Wiseman; several aunts and uncles.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Family Church.

Honorary bearers will be Daddy Ross, Ike Jordon, William Burnham, Mark Kelly, Ricky Carter, Christopher Byrd, Ricky Christian, Brenda Burnham, and George Braddford.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
