Obituary For Travis Duane McMullen

Travis Duane McMullen, 28, of Sedalia passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at his home in Sedalia, MO. He was born on August 11, 1989 in Sedalia, MO the son of Timmie Robert McMullen and Teresa Louise (Timbers) McMullen, who both reside in Sedalia.

Travis was a 2008 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He was attending State Fair Community College working towards his Journalism Degree. Travis worked as opinion columnist at the Sedalia Democrat, celebrating his 10 year anniversary on March 26, 2018. He worked as a counselor for Camp Notaclotamongus, St. Louis, MO, Camp Wilderness, in Lawson, MO, and Lake Donaphin Camp, Excelsior Springs, MO. Travis enjoyed going to the Missouri State Fair where he served as one of the judges for the State Fair Idol contest for a couple of years and wrote Fair Watches for the Sedalia Democrat.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandfather, Donald Timbers of Sedalia; three aunts, Linda Smith (Jerry) of Hughesville, Tammie Vermillion of Sedalia, and Pamela Crouch of Kelloge, ID; one uncle Duane Timbers of Sedalia.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Alice Timbers; his paternal grandparents, Duane and Sharlene McMullen; one uncle David Timbers; and one aunt Karen Potter.

A celebration of life gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to any of the Hemophilia Camps listed above or to the family in care of Rea Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
