Thomas C. "Tom" Shepherd II, 69, of Mora, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 26, 1948 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Thomas C. and Margueritte (Raines) Shepherd, who preceded him in death.
Tom spent his youth in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with his parents until his father's death, at that time he and his mother relocated to Missouri. He attended Smith Cotton High School and then joined the Army. He worked numerous jobs, including Swifts, owned his own business S&S Bait Shop, Shepherd's Auto Body and worked at Tyson Foods until his retirement. On March 24, 1977 in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Linda Closser, who resides of the home. In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by three sons, Thomas (Charlie) Shepherd, III. (Sheri) of Laurie, MO, Steven E. Shepherd (Angie) of Pilot Grove, MO, and Michael L. Shepherd of Moberly, MO; a daughter, DaNette M. Shepherd of Mora, MO; 11 grandchildren, Chrissy, Austin, Dakota, C.J., Preston, Caden, Gage, Reese, Gavin, Kierra, and Jace; and four great grandchildren, Jaelynn, Xaven, Waylon, and Aaron. Tom was known for his skills in auto mechanics, auto body repair, welding, and wood working. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, hunting, mushroom hunting, supervised the gardening, and being outdoors in his garage. Tom especially loved spending time with his family, friends, and his furry four legged friends.
Funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with Pastor Donnie Hayworth officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the chapel.
Honorary bearers will be grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
