Obituary For Thelma Lucille Bruce

Thelma "Lucille" Bruce, 86, formerly of Marshall, MO passed away November 11, 2021 at her home in Sedalia, MO. She was born on February 9, 1935 in Canyon, TX, the daughter of Charles and Mabel (Hicks) Shelnutt, who preceded her in death.

Lucille graduated from Canyon High School in 1953. She moved to Missouri with her family in 1963. She retired from Marshall Habilitation Center in 1998 and worked at the Marshall Walmart in her spare time. After retirement, she relocated to Sedalia, Missouri to be closer to family and dedicated most of her spare time to volunteering at the Salvation Army. Lucille’s greatest pleasure was spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. Besides spending time with family, she loved car rides, ice cream trips, and silly conversations with her friend, Dee. She was a Baptist and worshiped in her faith in God. She passed away peacefully on November 11, 2021 in her own home surrounded by her family.

Lucille is survived by two sons, William Bruce (Vicki), of Crane, MO, and Terry Bruce (Jenie), of Sedalia, MO; one daughter, Cheryl Bruce, of Leawood, KS; five grandsons, Jeremy Bruce (Julie), Corey Bruce (Emily), Andrew Bruce, Phillip Bruce (Samantha), and Kevin Bruce (Talena); one granddaughter, Abigail Bruce; and one sister, Joyce Humphrey.

In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by one sister, Katie Hamblen.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
