Thelma Louise Buehn, 92, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at her home. She was born December 31, 1925 in Holden, MO, the daughter of Orion and Pearl Urfer, who preceded her in death.
On March 17, 1946 in De Soto, MO, she was united in marriage to Irvin “Bud” Buehn who survives of the home.
Bud and Louise moved to Sedalia in 1966. Louise was active in the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H, United Methodist Women, Georgetown Community Club, and Georgetown United Methodist Church. She helped found the Open Door Thrift Store and served on the Board of Directors and volunteered at the store for many years. Louise also worked the election polls and worked in the Hughesville High School cafeteria for many years.
Louise was the rock of the family. Her door was always open to those in need. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and was an avid reader. She was strong, caring, and always had a word of encouragement or a smile for everyone. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are her husband Bud Buehn of Sedalia; son Robert Buehn of Kansas City; daughter Linda Diane Wright of Sedalia; grandson Geoffry Wright of Sedalia; and great-grandson Tristan Patterson of Bolinas, CA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel in Sedalia with Pastor Kenny Cripe officiating.
The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at Highland Sacred Gardens in Sedalia.
Pallbearers will be Ian Desselle, Jeff Barnes, Tim Barnes, James Wright, Pete Phillips and Flint Walton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions mat be made to Georgetown United Methodist Church in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
