Obituary For Terry Sartain

Terry Lee Sartain, 53, of Sedalia passed away June 20, 2016 at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born on April 5, 1963 in Sedalia, Missouri the son of Wayne Albert and Jeanne S. (Johnson) Sartain Sr., who preceded him in death.

Terry was born and raised in Smithton/Sedalia area and never had a desire to go anywhere else. He was known as a zealous car guy-MOPAR through and through. “If it wasn’t a MOPAR, why would you drive it-or even own it?” He was very proud of his Die-Cast car collection. It was his way to surround himself with the thing he enjoyed AND an excuse to talk cars with anyone who walked in his door.

He dearly loved his family-brothers, sister, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews-they were all a joy to him. He also loved and cherished all of those who were his hands and feet for many years. They all had a special place in his heart.

Terry lived a life of physical limitations, but he never let those limitations dim his spirit. He considered each day a gift from God. His friendly, positive easy-going way was an inspiration to many of his friends and family.

He was a true example of perseverance. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by a sister, Kim Wagenknecht (Lee) of Sedalia; two brothers, Wayne Sartain, Jr. (Patricia) of Sedalia and Mickey Sartain (Lori) of Smithton; nieces and nephews, Jared and Adam Wagenkencht, Ben Wilson, Sarah Sousley, Heather Mountain, and Matthew Sartain, Steffen and Austin Sartain.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Eddie Brown, officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Burial will be at a later date in Smithton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritans Purse in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
