Obituary For Terry Edward Mays, Sr.

Terry Edward Mays Sr., 76, of Warsaw, MO passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at his home. He was born on February 17, 1945 in Grandview, MO the son of Robert L. Mays and Phoebe A. Kreeger, who preceded him in death.

On March 28, 2000 he began a union with Diane Hammond, who survives of the home.

Terry ran a Karaoke business for many years and played with "The Plummer Family Show". After he left "The Plummer Family Show", he played in many other country bands like "The Roaring River Band". Terry enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. He was a wonderful father, an amazing handyman and the best guitar player around.

He is survived by his five children, Terry Mays, Jr. of Warsaw, Misty Mays of Osage Beach, Cassie Mays of Eldon, Cody and Tressa Mays of Kansas; eight step-children, Boone DeBates (Rhianon), Bradley Hammond, John and Bridget Pardee, Barbara DeBates, Tia and Joshua Hammond, Bernadine Contreras (Pete); five brothers, Jerry Mays of Belton, Jim Mays (Laquita) of Eldon, Lonnie Mays (Judy) of Kansas City, Don Mays of Warsaw, Kenny Mays of Kansas City; one sister, RuthAnn Masterson (Earl) of Belton, hundreds of grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Mays and stepson, Brandon DeBates.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia, MO.
