Sue Ellen Austin

Sue Ellen Austin, 81, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on December 20, 2024, at Loving Arms Memory Care & Assisted Living in Sedalia. She was born on February 23, 1943, in Green Ridge, MO, the daughter of Ralph Chaney and Orilla Greene, who preceded her in death.

Sue, a 1961 Green Ridge High School Graduate, was a woman of many talents. In the 1960s, she contributed to the aerospace industry as an employee of the Boeing Company at Whiteman Air Force Base. In the 1970s, she transitioned to a different role, serving as a dental assistant in Sedalia, MO. However, it was her career as an Antique Dealer in Mexico, MO, from 1991 to 2014, that truly captured her heart.

Sue enjoyed traveling with family and friends, Sanibel, Florida being her favorite home away from home. She looked forward to her almost yearly adventures with Mary and Marila, to "someplace warm."

Sue's love for her family was boundless. She was incredibly proud of her granddaughter, Shelby, her husband, Taron, and her great-grandson, Lincoln. Their presence in her life brought her immeasurable joy.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Stacy Allee (David) of California, MO; granddaughter, Shelby Morris (Taron); great-grandson, Lincoln; step-granddaughter, Holly Bieri (Eric); great-grandchildren, Lena, Lee and Lillie; a sister, Shirley Brown (Larry) of Sedalia, MO; a nephew Richie Brown; nieces, Robyne Brown, Kelley McCann (Chris), Julie Brown (Micah Rowden); and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.

Dr. Lana Long (Dr. Brett Coldrion) and her mother, Judy Long, were lifelong friends and meant a great deal to Sue.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Loving Arms Memory Care and Assisted Living and St. Croix Hospice. Their unwavering care and support during this difficult time were invaluable and deeply appreciated.

We are comforted knowing that Sue knows who she is again and is now always at the beach.
