Obituary For Steven James

Steven C. James, 53, of Sedalia passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016 at University Hospital, Columbia. He was born on August 24, 1962, in Sedalia the son of Curtis L. James, who preceded him in death and Dora M. (Hayes) James, who survives of Hughesville. On July 26, 1985 in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Lisa Randall, who survives of the home. Steven was a member of Hughesville Baptist Church, Midwest Drifters MC. He worked at Payless Cashways Distributorship in Sedalia as a Forklift Driver until their closing. Steve enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, collecting NASCAR memorabilia. He loved going to Sprint car races to watch his favorite driver, Johnathan Cornell and calling his old army buddy, Steve Postell and reminiscing about the old days in the military. He especially loved spending time with his son, wife, future daughter-in-law and brothers. Steve had a big heart and was always willing and ready to help anyone in need. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Stevie James and Heather "Sunshine" Albin of Sedalia; two sisters, Debra Mueller (Roger) of Hughesville, and Donna Fortune (Chuck) of Columbia; a brother, Paul James (Pam) of Hughesville; and a half brother, Bob James (Barbara) of Slater. Besides his father, he is preceded in death by two half brothers, Danny Lunsford and Ricky James. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donnie Hayworth officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. A committal of Steven's ashes will be held at a later date. Honorary bearers will be Jack Shelledy, Scott Phillips, Larry Koeller, Greg Allain, Jimmy Davis, Johnny Burns. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for medical expenses in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
