Steven Edward Emory, 62, of Sedalia passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at his home. He was born on December 13, 1954 in Topeka, KS the son of Earl Edward and Marilyn Elaine (Miller) Emory, who preceded him in death.
On November 8, 2003 in Sedalia he was united in marriage to Katherine L. Simon, who resides of the home.
Steve was a member of First United Methodist Church Celebration Center. He built State Fair Qwik Lube and was owner/operator of the business for about 10 years. He was an avid Kansas City Royals and Chiefs fan, loved all types of auto racing. His favorite NASCAR driver was Carl Edwards. Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially loved being a grandpa.
In addition to his wife Katherine, he is survived by a daughter, Tara Aeschbacher and her husband Bruce of Versailles; two grandsons, Caleb Sousley and Spencer Aeschbacher.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jim Downing officiating.
The family will receive friends and family from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2017 at the chapel.
Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Todd Griffin, Joe Miller, Joe Reser, Nick Moriarity, Brian Buso and Tom Horn.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church Celebration Center or MS Society in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
