Steven Michael Clark

Steven Michael Clark, 28, of Butler, MO, formerly of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at his home in Butler, MO. He was born on April 26, 1996, in Sedalia, the son of Shawn Michael Clark and Vickey A. (McCormack) Clark, who resides in Sedalia.

Steven was a 2014 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, where he played the drums for the Smith-Cotton marching band. He worked as a Dietician and cook at the Bates County, MO, Correctional Facility for the past five years. Steven was working towards finishing his criminal justice degree at Maryville University. Steven enjoyed doing diamond art paintings. He especially loved, more than anything, being with his family on both sides.

Along with his parents, Steven is survived by a sister, Christy Carter (Jack) of Warrensburg; his life partner, Josh Sampley of Virginia; his maternal grandmother, Lori McCormack, of Sedalia; paternal grandmother, Janet Clark, of Sedalia; three uncles, Charles McCormack (Mona) of Sedalia, and Pat McCormack (Cindy) of Lee's Summit, MO, and Glenn Lawrence of Sedalia; two aunts, Penny Boyce (Mark), and Valerie Miller (Randy), all of Sedalia; cousins, Robert and Michelle Anstine; a sister-in-law, Victoria Clark of Sedalia; two nieces, Kimora Carter, and Annabelle Clark; a nephew, James M. Clark; and cousins, Kiera and Piper Anstine.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jamie Clark, and Mason Clark; a sister, Adrian Clark; maternal grandparents, John and Patty McCormack; paternal grandfather, James E. Clark; three uncles, John Jr., Michael, and Brian McCormack; aunt Katrina Lawrence and a cousin, Wyatt McCormack.

The family will hold a celebration of life gathering with family and friends at a later date.
