Shirley Jean Hensley, 81, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. She was born on May 18, 1937 in Sedalia, MO, the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Wheeler) Ridenour, who preceded her in death.
On October 30, 1954 in Harrison, AR, she was united in marriage to Floyd Wayne Hensley, who preceded her in death on June 6, 1996.
Shirley enjoyed reading, crocheting, her monthly breakfast with her best friend, and monthly get together with her co-workers from Inter-State Studio. She loved going to the casino in Boonville and shopping with her family. Shirley especially loved spending time with family.
Survivors include two sons, Jack W. Hensley of Sedalia and Robert W. Hensley (Carla) of Columbia, MO; three daughters, Brenda White (Greg) of Sedalia, Jeannie Wilson of Sedalia, and Lorrie Campbell (Joe) of Ionia, MO; a sister, Mary Gaylord of Sedalia; eighteen grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Hensley; three sisters, Joanna M. Lindsey, Rose M. McGirl, and Pearl Barker; a brother, George Ridenour; and a granddaughter, Amanda Hensley.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday April 3, 2019 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dan Hankins officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the funeral chapel.
Burial will be at Crown Hill, Sedalia, MO.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Ernie Craig, Jack Hensley, Michael Boyd, Matt Boyd, Marcus Wilson, and Caleb Campbell.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
