Obituary For Shirley Arline Johns

Shirley Arline Johns (Bozarth), 76, of Sedalia, MO lost her battle with cancer and passed surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. She was born on September 1, 1944 in Sedalia, MO the daughter of Roy and Nancy (Cureton) Bozarth, who preceded her in death.

On July 16, 1974 in Las Vegas, NV she was united in marriage to Greg Johns, who preceded her in death.

Shirley lived 4 years in Waukesha, WI and 10 years in Phoenix, AZ before moving back to Sedalia. She worked most of her life in retail, especially furniture and she loved decorating. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Shirley enjoyed helping others and doing for others. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She was the rock to the whole family and her witty spunk will be cherished and kept in our minds and hearts.

She is survived by three children, Angel Bell (Ray) of Sedalia, Jared Johns (Kristina) of Sedalia, Lisa Humphrey (Jared) of Lenexa, KS; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two brothers, Gary Bozarth (Joy) of Warsaw, Ronnie Bozarth of Sedalia; one sister, Sharon Kratzer of Sedalia.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Bozarth. A small Celebration of Life with family and close friends will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 4, 2020 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Bishop Evan Stout officiating.

The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to all friends, neighbors, and church family for all the love and support they have given.
