Sheryl Ann Williams, 66, of Sedalia, MO, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Fair View Nursing Home. Born on September 14, 1958, in Sedalia, she was the beloved daughter of Clarence Edgar Newell and Judith Ann (Huggins) Newell, who both preceded her in death.
A proud graduate of Smith-Cotton High School in 1976, Sheryl spent her early years in Pilot Grove before returning to Sedalia in 1970. Her faith was central to her life as a dedicated member of the Church of the Nazarene in Sedalia.
Sheryl's career was marked by her commitment to nurturing others. She worked at Lamy's Manufacturing, ABM, Honey Bear Daycare, and Kid Connection Daycare before fulfilling her dream of running an in-home daycare for twelve years. Her warmth and dedication touched the lives of many children, and her legacy of love will be remembered by all who knew her.
An avid crocheter, Sheryl found joy in creating beautiful baby blankets. She cherished the simple pleasures of crafting, watching holiday movies, and, most importantly, spending precious moments with her grandchildren.
Sheryl is survived by her son, Jonathon Tyler Williams, and daughter, Victoria Williams, both of Sedalia; two brothers, Ron Newell and his wife Donna of Sedalia, and Don Newell and his wife Janet of Ava, MO; three sisters, Cindy Reid and her husband Jim of Houstonia, Karen Young and her husband David of Otterville, and Barb Giddens and her husband Jeff of Nashville, TN; two grandchildren, Damon and Nevaeh Williams; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of Sheryl's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at East Sedalia Baptist Church, located at 1019 E. 5th St., Sedalia, with Pastor Kevin Anstine officiating.
In lieu of formal visitation, friends and family are invited to join in honoring her memory. Memorial contributions may be made to her children to sponsor a meal at the Sedalia Cafe.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel. Sheryl's spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her.
