Obituary For Sharon Lea Watt

Sharon Lea Watt, 80 of Sedalia, MO passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Fair View Nursing Home in Sedalia. She was born on April 22, 1941 in Sabetha, KS the daughter of Chester Ewing and Dorothy (Igou) Ewing, who preceded her in death.

On December 8, 1961 in Trenton, MO, she was united in marriage to Phillip Ray Watt, Sr, who preceded her in death on December 20,1994.

She was a 1959 graduate of Sabetha High School in Sabetha, KS. In 1974 she graduated from the Northeast Missouri State University (Truman State University) in Kirksville, MO with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Education. She completed graduate hours towards her Masters of Science degree in Education from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO. She taught 3rd and 5th grade in the Braymer C-4 School District from 1974 to her retirement in July 1, 2000. After finding herself with too much free time and her devotion to tutelage, she taught from 2002-2006 at the Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center in Excelsior Springs, MO.

She was an avid ELVIS fan and collector, anything and everything ELVIS! Also, she was a devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan! How about those CHIEFS! She got to watch the Chiefs become the Super Bowl LIV Champions in 2020! This was a highlight on her bucket list! The casino was a pastime she enjoyed. Slot machines were a must for the trips to the casinos. However, at all family gatherings, cards and dice were the entertainment! Shopping was a way of life for her! She loved to window shop and browse the aisles in circles at Wal-Mart for hours at a time. Reading was a hobby she continued throughout her years. She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and a continuous educator.

Survivors include four children, Kimberly A. Little (Martin) of Trenton, MO, Thomas L. Watt of La Monte, MO, William Eric Watt of St. Joseph, MO, and Elizabeth E Randall (Michael) of Sedalia, MO; thirteen grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Joshua, Jordan, Jennifer, Samuel, Ashlea, Colton, Madison, Lacy, Ezekiel, Ethan and Zaden; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Ray Watt, Jr., two grandchildren, Tyler Watt and Cassandra Watt; two great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Mary Moon, Phillip "Jerry" Ewing, Leslie "Bo" Ewing and Paul Michael Ewing.

A celebration of life service will be held by the family at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer, MO on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Larry Chappell officiating.

Burial of the ashes will be in the Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, MO immediately following.
