Obituary For Ryle Marie Wischmeier
Ryle Marie Wischmeier, 91, formerly of Lincoln, MO passed away Monday, October 25, 2021 at St. Lukes South in Overland Park, KS. She was born on March 17, 1930 in Nelson, MO the daughter of Gurney and Margaret Reed, who preceded her in death.
On September 17, 1979 she was united in marriage to William “Pete” Wischmeier, who preceded her in death on Mar 21, 2019.
Ryle was fortunate to retire from her position with Hallmark Cards in 1987. Post retirement, she enjoyed quilting & crocheting. You could find her happily tending to her garden, where she and Pete would provide many with their zucchini and tomatoes. She was an excellent cook. Everyone in the family looked forward to her homemade egg noodles every Thanksgiving as well as her pies. She loved playing cards with her sisters and her love resonated at every family gathering. Ryle was an avid fan of Mizzou basketball and she loved to cheer on our KC Chiefs.
She is survived by a daughter , Shawn Ismert, (Bill) of Lee’s Summit, MO; a son, Troy Scott of Edwards MO; nine grandchildren, Robby Brown, Lindsay Vanzandt, Ashlee Brown, Lisa Ismert, Chelsea Cook, Kale Scott, Holly Scott, Austin Scott, and Tyler Ismert; eleven great grandchildren, Ava, Jeremy, Jordynn, Trenton, Mason, Owen, Charlotte, Kohen, Collins, Leona, and Bishop, a brother, Gurney Reed Jr. of Olympia, WA; three sisters, Helen Wilken, Jefferson City, MO, Carolyn Balke, of Clinton, MO, and Jackie Self, of Columbia, MO; and a daughter-in-law, Sue Scott, of Overland Park, KS.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Greg Scott and Mark Scott; a brother, Gene Reed; and four sisters, Shirley Dennis, Virginia Kennedy, Donna Blevins, and Patty Carson.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 8, 2021 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rusty Thomas officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
Burial will be at Salt Fork Cemetery, near Nelson, MO.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Diabetes Foundation in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
