Ruth Christine Williams, 94, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia. She was born on February 2, 1931, near Knob Noster, MO, the daughter of Arley Edgar Sanders and Eula Almyra (Means) Sanders, who preceded her in death.
On May 24, 1951, in Columbia, MO, she was united in marriage to Guy Houston Williams, who preceded her in death.
Ruth, a proud graduate of Green Ridge High School in 1948, was a member of the Calhoun Baptist Church. She was a woman of many interests and hobbies, which she pursued with great passion. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning, baking, cooking meals, crossword puzzles, and listening to the radio. She also enjoyed attending church and reading her Bible. Her close companionship with her husband was a testament to her love for being a housewife. They cherished their farm life, and Ruth's zest for life was especially evident in her deep love for her family and grandchildren, which she always expressed with warmth and affection.
Ruth is survived by a daughter, Anita Jordan; a grandson, Brent Jordan; a granddaughter, Lora Pfeifer (Matt); and two great-grandchildren, Valarie and Levi; four sisters; one brother; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a son, Richard Williams; three sisters and one brother.
A graveside service and burial was held at Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, MO, at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March, 20, 2025, with Chaplain Richard DeFord officiating.
Pallbearers will be Brayden Bond, Jeremy Bond, Kevin Bond, Wesley Hammond, Brent Jordan, and Cliff Yeager.
Honorary bearer will be Robert Bond.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Laurel Oak Cemetery Association in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
