Ruth Ann Bohon, 88, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was born on December 8, 1933, in Sedalia, the daughter of Charles Wareham and Florence (Figler) Wareham, who preceded her in death.On August 17, 1956, in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Lonnie Eugene Bohon, who preceded her in death in February of 1999.Ruth graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1951. She worked for Southwestern Bell telephone company from July 1951 and retired in 1982. She then worked at the Pettis County Courthouse as a clerk from January 1983 and retired in 2000. In her younger years, she enjoyed singing at church and weddings. Ruth's hobbies include playing cards with her "card girls," doing crossword puzzles, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs. Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Contreras (John) and Susan Blaylock (Stan), all of Sedalia; three grandchildren, Amber Wells of Kingston, Ontario, Canada, Justin Miesner (Sara) of Sedalia, and Andrew Benner (Jesse) of Sedalia; three great-grandchildren, Addison, Silas, and Aria Miesner; a sister, Thelma Wareham of Aledo, TX; and her special friend, Nick Backer, of Nixa, MO.In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by four sisters, Charline Stuart, Florine Edwards, Lucille Frank, and Beatrice Jenkins, and a brother, Billy Wareham.A graveside service and burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Pete Contreras officiating.The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the graveside service at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.Pallbearers will be Cynthia and John Contreras, Susan and Stan Blaylock, Justin Miesner, and Andrew Benner.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
