Obituary For Ruth A. Buller

Ruth A Buller, 92, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was born February 21, 1930, in Anthony, KS, the daughter of George Dewey Moore and Mary Elizabeth (Shippen) Moore, who preceded her in death. Ruth was a graduate of Wichita East High School. She attended Wichita State University while working full-time at Boeing. She met Donald D. Buller on a blind date, and they were united in marriage on August 28, 1955, in Wichita, KS. They lived in Springfield, MO, while Don did his internship in architecture. In 1961, she and Don moved to Sedalia, MO. Ruth loved to sing and was a member of the choir at First Christian Church for over 50 years, was an active member of Helen G. Steele Music Club, sang in several barbershop quartets, and was an active member of the Sedalia Chorale for many years. Ruth loved to play bridge and was a faithful member of a long-running Wednesday afternoon bridge club. She loved serving her community and worked as an election judge for many years. She was a girl scout troop leader and keeper of the key for Sacajawea Girl Scout Camp. Ruth was also known as an excellent cook making cakes, cookies, chili, spaghetti, etc., for many church functions. She had a huge library of cookbooks that covered many nationalities and cuisines. She was also an accomplished seamstress making many of her own clothes and her daughter’s clothes. She is survived by three children, Shawn Buller of Miami, FL, Kevin Buller (Jamie) of Jacksonville, FL, and Stuart Buller (Susan) of Burleson, TX; three grandchildren, Brandon and Hayleigh Zachary, Loren and Jesse Steele, and Hanna Hodges; four great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Eli, Isla, and Everett; and brother and sister-in-law Richard and Connie Buller of Conway, AR. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022, at First Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Chad McMullin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, Sedalia Open Door, or a charity of the donor’s choice in care of the Rea Funeral Chapel.
