Obituary For Rosemary Rios

Rosemary C. “Rosie” Rios of Sedalia passed away November 15,2014 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 12, 1944, in Nevada, MO a daughter of Rosalio and Elvira C. (Perez) Rios, Sr. On December 24, 1960 in Kansas City, KS she was united in marriage to David Lee Miller, Sr., who preceded her in death on January 28, 1995.

She was employed at Swift & Co. in 1970, until they closed in 1982. She then worked for Bothwell Memorial Hospital until her health began to fail in 2004. She enjoyed crocheting, the cooking channel, spending time with her family and her cat Missy Lynn. She attended Lighthouse Casa de Luz UPC Multicultural Church.

She is survived by two sons, David (Becky) Miller, Jr., and Edward “Eddie” Miller, all of Sedalia; four sisters, Delores Lopez of Kansas, Theresa Mendoza of Hawaii, Mary Helen Williamson of Kansas City, MO and Elvira Gonzales of Kansas City, MO; three brothers, Ralph (Carol) Rios of Raytown, MO, Joseph Rios of Kansas City, MO and Jesse Rios of Maryland; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Tara) Miller of Quincy, IL, Kayla (Kyler) Eldred, Kymberly Brooks of Hattiesburg, MS, Edward Miller, Jr. of Versailles, MO, Mathew (Amber) Wilson of Maryville, MO, Stephen Wilson of Sedalia and Joey McMahan of Enid, OK; eight great grandchildren, Lydia, Raylee, Iian, Myra, Peyton, Riley, Kaylee and Dakota; numerous nieces and nephews. A special niece, Maria (Dee Dee) Carr.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters,Karen Diane Miller and Suzanne Miller; three sisters, Sally Becerra, Margaret Rodriquez and Refugia Poetner; six brothers, Paul, Raymond, Frank, Russell Jr., Robert and Vincent Rios; three grandchildren, Michael Lee Miller, Nathan Garnett Miller and Anthony Ross Wilson.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia, with Pastor Pete Contreras officiating.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sedalia Animal Shelter in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
