Obituary for Rose Estill
Rose Estill, affectionately known as “Nannie Rose,” was born in Boonville, MO on March 15, 1932 to the parentage of the late Mr. Ephie Woodson and the late Mrs. Irene Miller.
Rose accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the Burns Chapel Free Will Baptist Church for over sixty years, serving on a vast majority of committees and was a Mother on the Mother’s Board until her passing.
Rose was married to the late Leon Estill, who preceded her in death on July 3, 2005, just one month shy of their 56th wedding anniversary! Into this union was born one son, Howard Lee Estill, the late Karen Lavon Hudson, and Adrian Denise Dixon. Rose and Leon were also blessed to have three loving inherited children, Charles and Carol Brown and Beverly Estill, that were very dear to their hearts. These three angels were always there to immediately assist with her every need.
Rose was employed by Town & Country Shoe Factory for twenty-three years; the Sedalia School District #200 for fifteen years and at the age of eighty, her last place of employment was the Salvation Army, where after four years of employment she left due to failing health issues.
Rose was an avid traveler and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her travels often took her to many different states such as California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Hawaii, and other states in between. She also enjoyed attending church services and playing cards with her family and dear friends.
Rose leaves to cherish and continue her legacy: her son, Howard Estill (Mary) of Papillion, NE; daughter, Adrian Dixon (Leonard) of Woodhaven, MI; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchild; her sister, Pearl Allen of Boonville, MO; one sister-in-law, Mildred Kingsberry of St. Louis, MO; two brothers-in-law, Charles Estill of Columbia, MO and Lorenzo Stemmons of Boonville, MO; three other loving and devoted children, Charles and Carol Brown, and Beverly Estill, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
