Obituary for Ronnie E. Ollison
Ronnie E. Ollison, 67, of Green Ridge, MO passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 at Bothwell Regional Health Center. He was born on February 18, 1953 in Sedalia, MO the son of Elbert William Ollison and Ruby C. (Griesel) Ollison, who preceded him in death.
On May 19, 1978 in Sedalia, MO he was united in marriage to Betty Carlson, who resides in the home.
Ronnie was a member of Green Ridge Baptist Church. He worked for Alcan Cable and retired after 32 years. Ronnie was currently serving as Mayor of Green Ridge since 2012, a Green Ridge volunteer fire fighter, and was a member of the Pettis County Crime Stoppers. Ronnie was an avid collector of fire department memorabilia and enjoyed driving his fire truck in the Green Ridge and Sedalia parades, and the Missouri State Fair parade.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two step children, James Robert Ollison of Smithton, and Kimberly Rimel (Michael) of Sedalia; six grandchildren, Serena Ollison (Matt Westerdale), Jacob Ollison, Brittney Bailey, Donald Goodman, Donna Forbes, and Ryan Rimel (Renee); four great grandchildren Bryson James Westerdale, Aleks Pulliam, Grace Rimel and Olivia Rimel; two brothers, Keith Ollison of Smithton, Kenneth Ollison (Beverly) of Green Ridge; a sister Connie Broaddus of Sedalia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted Ollison and one in infancy; and a brother-in-law, Don Broaddus.
A Celebration of Life gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Rea Funeral Chapel. The family suggests everyone dress casually and face mask requested.
A burial will be held at a later date in Green Ridge Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Ollison, Matt Westerdale, Ryan Rimel, Jason Ollison, Rob Cross, Martin Meyer.
Honorary bearers will be John Miller, Jerry Williams, Audrey Harding, Donald "Homer" Goodman, Raymond Thompson, Lee Hoover, and Tony Turner, Jr.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Green Ridge Volunteer Fire Department or to the Sedalia Animal Shelter in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
