Robert Paul Rhoads, 83, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the Missouri Veterans Home, Warrensburg. He was born March 16, 1930 in Pettis County, a son of Oscar Gustav and Anna (Mittenburg) Rhoads.
On July 15, 1961 in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Carol Anne Spencer.
Robert loved all of his family dearly and they were very important to him. He enjoyed reading. Bob was a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church, Sedalia. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force through the Korean Conflict.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Aaron Rhoads of Columbia, MO, Joseph Rhoads (Cindy) of Bolivar, MO, Paul Rhoads (Stephanie) of Columbia, MO; three sisters, Elizabeth Patterson of Sedalia, Etta Sue Hoffman (Larry) of Gary, IN, Mary Ann Henderson (Ken) of Pennsylvania; four brothers, Don Rhoads of Bakersfield, CA, Bill Rhoads of Sedalia, Roy Rhoads (Gloria) of Sedalia, and Tommy Rhoads (Sandra) of Gary, IN.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Rhoads; and two brothers, Henry Rhoads and Kent Rhoads.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with Pastor Ron Foley officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, Friday, February 14, 2014 at the funeral chapel.
Interment will be in Mt. Herman Cemetery, Sedalia.
Honorary bearers will be nieces and nephews, Janet Newell, Ken Rhoads, Kim Milka, Shenandoah Rhoads, Thresea Rhoads, David Rhoads, and Debbie Wiskur.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, MO in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
