Robert Wayne (Bob) McCracken, 84, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on August 29, 2024, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. He was born on March 13, 1940, at the Glendale Research Hospital in Glendale, CA. He was the son of Dudley McCracken and Esther O. (Naas) McCracken, and a step-brother, Paul D. McCracken, all who preceded him in death.

On July 3, 1976, in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Mary Lou (Biggs) Hageman, who preceded him in death on February 20, 2018.

Bob lived and went to school in Pacoima and San Fernando, CA, and moved to Marionville, MO in 1956.

He graduated from Marionville High School in 1958, and went to SMS college in Springfield, MO. In August of 1959, he joined the Army, and after basic training was sent to Cleveland, OH and was a radar operator at Bratenahl Nike Site on Lake Erie until his three year enlistment in the Army expired.

In 1963, he attended college at Central Tech Inst. in KC, MO, and transferred to Electronics Institute, where he attended, and also taught basic electronics evening class, and graduated from there in 1965. Upon graduation he was hired by Eastman Kodak Co. as a field engineer. He serviced their microfilm and electronic equipment and spent a year at the University of MO in the Radiology department helping to develop the Retnar machine.

He worked out of Columbia, MO for 18 years servicing Central Missouri's businesses , banks, and hospitals. That is where he met and married his wife, Mary Lou.

Bob traveled to Rochester, NY, and Chicago, IL extensively during his 27 years with Kodak, receiving early retirement in 1991.

After retirement, he bought, restored, and sold used cars at Greg's Auto Sales which he really enjoyed.

Bob and Mary loved each other very much, and loved working together in the churches they were members of, and also working on houses they bought and sold.

All his life Bob loved his family and friends, and all the things they did together, and his country music.

Bob is survived by four step-children, Kathy Cramer, Becky Arbisi, Debby Chancellor (Bob), and Stan Hageman (Terrie), all of Sedalia; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with pastor Eddie Brown officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, at the chapel.

The burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia, MO, with full military honors being conducted by the United States Army, and the VFW Post #2591.

Pallbearers will be Mike Chancellor, Matt Hageman, Adam Cramer, Ryan Cramer, Tony Arbisi, and Erik Arbisi.

Honorary bearers will be Joel Sherman, David Schick, and Sam Jones

Memorial contributions may be made to the Show Me Youth Christian Home, in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
