Obituary For Robert Jones

Robert Dean Jones Jr., 62, of Sedalia passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, MO. He was born on November 23, 1953 in Jacksonville, Illinois the son of Robert Dean Jones Sr., who preceded him in death, and Ann Whitlock who survives of Statcher, AZ.

On July 7, 1984 in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to Mary Margaret Dillon, survives of the home.

Bob worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 35 years as a signalman. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Union Pacific Railroad Friends of Friends and Brotherhood of Railroad. He enjoyed martial arts and was a black belt in Karate. He collected railroad pictures and china memorabilia. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two step children Travis Dillon of Sedalia and Darcy Jones (David) of Sedalia; three step grandchildren, Dustin, Ryan, and D'on; four sisters, Betsy Miller of Decader, IL, Mindy Gutmann of Ashland IL, Barb Kemple, Jacksonville, IL, and Kendra Wingf of Savannah, GA; his step-mother, Sue Roe of Richmond, TX.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a half brother, Ryan Alexander Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rick Adams officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.

Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Travis Dillon, Chris Newton, Dustin Dillon, Jody Gardern, Bill Miller, Justin Kemple, and Mike Wingf.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association in care of the funeral chapel.
