Robert "Bobby" Jerome Johnson Sr., 64, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
He was born on February 13, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri, and was the son of Richard Edward Johnson and the late Gloria Ann Griffin.
Robert graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO, and shortly after, he enlisted in the military and served in the Army for four years. After his time in the military, Robert moved back to Kansas City. Being back home for some time, Robert had moved to Sedalia in 1993. Shortly after moving, Robert met Christel Butler, with whom he would spend the next 21 years of his life. During their time together, they raised three beautiful children together. Robert adored being a father, claiming it was his life's purpose. He loved being heavily involved in his children's lives, whether it was coaching his son's sports teams, doing a father-daughter dance with his youngest, or watching hockey with his oldest; he was just happy to be surrounded by his children.
In Robert's spare time he enjoyed reading, fishing, sometimes watching the Chiefs (who he loved), playing fantasy football, lawn care, cooking and a good nap. Robert worked at the Bothwell Regional Health Center until his retirement. During his life, he made many great friends and lasting impressions on all who were able to meet him.
Along with his father and stepmother Karen, he is survived by Christel La-Vonne Butler (Long-Term Spouse) of Sedalia, MO; his two daughters, Kaneesha Verlee Wulf (Zachary) of Hughesville, MO and Asia La-Vonne Johnson (Ti-Reece) of Kansas City, MO; one son, Robert "Bobby" Jerome Johnson Jr. (Brianna) of Lee's Summit, MO; two sisters, Sheilah Johnson Graves of Springfield, MO and Colleen Rosencrans of Springfield, MO; two brothers, Richard Edward Johnson Jr. of Kansas City, MO and Christian "Chris" Johnson of Springfield, MO.
