Ricky W. Shackles

Ricky W. Shackles, 69, of Sedalia, MO, passed away at his home on Monday, May 22, 2023. He was born on August 6, 1953, in Sedalia, the son of Fred Lee Shackles and Ruby Marie (Rogers) Shackles, who preceded him in death.

On August 13, 1974, in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Vickie Lee Colvin, who resides in Sedalia.

Ricky worked as a carpenter in the construction industry. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, going dancing, and fast cars. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Along with his wife, Ricky is survived by a son Richard Shackles of Sedalia, and a daughter, Faith Marie McHenry of Zanesville, OH; two grandchildren, Ricky Shackles and Dalton McHenry; a brother, Fred Shackles of Ohio; three sisters, Linda Darnell of Ohio, Jewel Kimmerly of Ohio, and Teresa Adair of Warsaw, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Shackles, Terry Shackles, and David Shackles, and a sister, Regina Rudabaugh.

The family will hold a celebration of life gathering with family and friends at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Sedalia Animal Shelter in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
