Richard L."Rick" Davis, 69, of Warrensburg, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Country Club Care Center in Warrensburg, MO. He was born on July 8, 1947 in Sedalia, MO, the son of Lloyd and Betty (Cable) Davis, who preceded him in death.
Rick attended Smith Cotton High School and joined the Navy. He was married to Cindy (Crouch) Davis for 36 years and had two children. Rick worked for Adco in Sedalia from 1978 until 2000. He then went to work for KIC Transportation in Houston, TX as a dispatcher, retiring in 2003. Rick was an avid hunter and loved to fish, often spending his time at Lake of the Ozarks and Toledo Bend, Texas.
Survivors include a son, Shawn Davis and his wife Shannon, of Warrensburg; a daughter, Amber Bolenbaugh and her husband Les, of Lee's Summit; five grandchildren, Lexie, Lindsey, Ryan, Casey and Lauren; three sisters, Lourene Embree and her husband Gerald of Independence, MO, Pat Fessler of Moore, OK and Debbie Kenley of Ft. Worth, TX; and a brother, John Cable and his wife Teresa, of Ft. Worth, TX.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Jim Cable.
A celebration of life gathering for family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with a picnic at Liberty Park, Shelter #2, afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Crossroads Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
