Obituary For Rev. Kenneth Lockard

Rev. Kenneth Lee Lockard, 84, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013, at Bothwell Regional Health Center. He was born on February 20, 1929, in Lincoln, MO, son of Arch and Carrie (Reed) Lockard. On September 27, 1947, in Windsor, MO, he was united in marriage to Viola “Vi" Brown, who survives of the home.

He was a Southern Baptist minister for 44 years and was a member of First Baptist Church, Sedalia. He enjoyed reading, taking pictures, and using the computer especially making cards. Kenneth loved visiting with his family and in earlier years traveling, camping, and fishing.

He is survived by his wife; two children, Jerry Lockard and his wife, Angie, of Ashland, KY; Connie Deskin, and her husband, Ron, of Macon, MO; five grandchildren, Michelle (Kevin) Buck, Zenaida (Selby) Buck, Tacai (Brad) Keeton, Andrea (Mike) Serino, Rhonda Deskin; and six great grandchildren; one sister, Jean Henderson of Raytown, MO; and a sister-in-law, Daphene Lockard, of Branson, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Trudy Lockard; and three brothers, Orlyn Lockard, Bill Lockard, and Merlin Lockard in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 14, 2013, at Rea Funeral Chapel with Rev. Marlin Brown officiating.

Pallbearers will be Ron Deskin, Owen Fox, John Drennon, Bill Imhauser, Gary Fleming and Ron Cunningham.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service, at the chapel.

Memorial contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church, Sedalia.
