Obituary For Rebecca Colvin

Rebecca Jo “Muffy” Colvin, 40, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 8, 2014. She was born May 17, 1973 in Sedalia, MO, daughter of Eugene and Jo Colvin.

She attended Whittier Elementary School and Sedalia Middle School. Her sophomore, junior and senior years were spent at E.W. Thompson State School, also in Sedalia. She graduated in 1994.

Besides her parents, she is also survived by one brother, Ed Colvin of Sedalia and three nephews, Andrew Colvin, Adam Colvin and Mike Burgess; two nieces, Molly Colvin and Audry Colvin; two great nephews, Blake and Vincent and one sister-in-law, Kelly Colvin.

When Rebecca turned 25, she moved to her own “apartment” as she called it, which was a room at Brown Street Group Home. She loved living there and made many friends. She was proud of inviting her friends to her parent home for BBQ’s, holiday parties, fish fry’s and her birthday parties. She also enjoyed the get-togethers with her cousins. She loved them all and in return they all loved her.

In 1991, Rebecca got a job at Ewing Vocational Center. She loved getting her own paychecks. She was an avid animal lover and volunteered at the Sedalia Animal Shelter. She loved books and music, especially John Bon Jovi.

Memorial services are to be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with Jack Jones officiating and devotional given by David Moody.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

Burial will be at Highland Sacred Gardens.

Honorary bearers will be Michael Karrick, Devin Montgomery, Scott Ridgeway, Bob Potter, Barry Rivera, Andrew Colvin, Mike Burgess and Trevor Graff.
