Randall Theodore Blankenship, 87, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at his home. He was born on April 14, 1936, in Squire, WV, the son of Calvin Crocket Blankenship and Nellie Jane (Davis) Blankenship, who preceded him in death.
On April 4, 1959, in Lebanon, VA, he was united in marriage to Alma Jean Riley, who preceded him in death on November 7, 2020.
Randall was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Nelson, MO. He was a 1953 graduate of Big Creek High School in War, WV. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp. from 1956 to 1958. Randall went to heavy equipment operator school in Salina, KS. He was a proud union Heavy Equipment Operator for Menefee Rock Quarries and retired from LaFarge Quarries in 2000. Randall enjoyed gardening, traveling, visiting family, and class reunions, and he especially loved his cattle farming in his spare time.
Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca King (Daryl) of Nelson, MO, and Honey Cornine (Gary) of Sedalia; a son, Jeff Blankenship of Sedalia; seven grandchildren, Jake Sanders-King, Meghan Duggan, Ethan King (Jessica), Kenny Blankenship (Jessica), Josh Cornine (Laura), Morgan "Nicki" Renfrow (Matt), and Jesse Cornine; 14 great-grandchildren, Samantha King, Gibson King, Savannah Duggan, Riley Wyatt, Garrett Jones, Rylee Blankenship, Kendal Blankenship, Zander Cornine, Constance Cornine, Mason Renfrow, Haddie Cornine, Journey Cornine, Davis Cornine, and Annistyn Renfrow; his much-loved cousin Noel Harrison (Cathy); and numerous other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Randall was preceded in death by three brothers, Eric C., Melvin C., and Harold Blankenship; a grandson, Matthew Randall Blankenship; and a daughter-in-law Michele Blankenship.
A celebration of life service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Memorial Baptist Church, 13998 State Hwy Z, Nelson, MO, with Rev. Jan McDowell and Rev. Lonnie DeVorss officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be at a later date in Union Cemetery, North East Pettis County, on Highway N.
Honorary bearers will be his grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Baptist Church or Cancer Perks in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to all friends, neighbors, and church family for all the love and support they have given.
