Obituary For Ralph Leon Quick

Ralph Leon Quick, 79, of Sedalia, MO passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Warsaw Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on July 18, 1942 in Sedalia the son of Lester and Thelma (Hensley) Quick, who preceded him in death.

On November 18, 1972 in Sedalia, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sharon Faye (Copas) Quick, who survives of the home.

Ralph was a simple man who was very proud of his family and his accomplishments in the U.S. Navy. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-1964 on the U.S.S. Oriskany where he received an accommodation medal from President John F. Kennedy. He got to meet the President and shake his hand. In his earlier years, you could find him spending time with his son, Shaun and nephew, Chad enjoying the outdoors by hunting and fishing. Later in his life, he carried on the family tradition with his grandson Cody. He taught Cody everything he knows about wildlife and the outdoors from his grandpa. In his spare time he enjoyed watching westerns, or cheering on his favorite NFL team, The Kansas City Chiefs. He also enjoyed working on puzzles and spending quality time with his beloved family.

Besides his wife, Ralph is survived by three sons, Shaun Wesley Quick (Diane), of Sedalia, Kevin Quick, and Allen Quick, both of Canada; one step-daughter, Lori Ann Copas, of Sedalia; five grandsons, Cody Jacob Copas (Nichole), of Sedalia, Lane Wesley Quick, of Nixa, MO, Brennan Lee Quick, of Nixa, MO, Daniel William Rockamann, of Wentzville, MO, and Zachary Baetsle (Sasha) of Des Moines, IA; and two great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Tammy Sue Copas; nine brothers; and mother and father in laws, Mary Ellen and Wesley Copas.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Rea Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jon Church, officiating.

The family will receive guest one hour prior to service.

Burial will be at Highland Sacred Gardens, Sedalia, MO. Full military honors will be conducted by U.S. Navy and VFW Post 2591.

Pallbearers will be Cody Copas, Chad Copas, Lane Quick, Brennan Quick, Daniel Rockamann and Richard Tate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family, in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
