Phyllis Kay Jones, 67, of Sedalia, MO passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Fair View Nursing Home in Sedalia. She was born on January 9, 1951 in Fayette, AL the daughter of Freddie and Sarah (Richardson) Palmer, who preceded her in death.
She was a 1969 graduate of West Highland High School in Fayette, AL. She met her husband, Maurice Jones, in Sedalia and later married him in Fayette, AL in 1969. She worked twenty years for Wal-Mart in various capacities, including Department Manager. She loved her family and was always excited to attend family reunions. She loved traveling, cooking, helping others and really enjoyed watching "I Love Lucy."
Survivors include her son, Maurio C. Jones; brothers, Jay Palmer, Eric Palmer (Abbie), Roland Palmer, and Vincent Haley; sisters, Maretta Palmer, Patricia Palmer (Raymond), Shelia Griffin (O'Rest), and her honorary sister and best friend, Brenda Richardson; and grandchildren, Kade Jones and Keelly Jones; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was loved and cherished by her family and friends and will be painfully missed by all that knew her wonderful charm.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Ruth Richardson and her son, Warren Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, May 18, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with her son, Maurio C. Jones, officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Rea Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Sedalia.
Pallbearers will be Maurio C. Jones, Maurice Jones, Stephen Boggs, and David Rhodes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Keelly Jones, Kade Jones, Steve Bierman and Derek Graves.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the family in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
