Obituary For Peggy Jo Williams

Peggy Jo Williams, 66, passed on to her Heavenly home on Monday, November 29, 2021. She was born on November 24, 1955, in Kansas City, Missouri to parents Harry and Mary Dorothy (Fidler) Williams.

Peggy lived a life of service to her family, friends, and community. She was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, State Fair Community College, Southwest Missouri University, and University of Missouri Columbia, where she earned a Masters Degree in Social Work. She worked as a probation and parole officer and a halfway house director in the early years of her career. She retired on September 24, 2021 after spending 21 years at Burrell Behavioral Health, where she worked as a Community Support Specialist for 17 years and a Community Support Supervisor for 4 years.

Peggy was the matriarch of her beloved family. She is survived by her life partner of 37 years, James Jones, son Israel Jones, daughter-in-law Jessica Jones, grandchildren Israel Jones, Ezra Jones, Genesis Jones, and Zion Jones, sister-in-law Mina Williams, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Billy Williams, and her sister Shirley Burton. Peggy wanted to say that she was blessed by having good family, good friends and good coworkers and expressed appreciation for all.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Rea Funeral Chapel in Sedalia.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the family or a favorite charity, in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
