Pearly John Jett died in the early morning hours of November 6, 2023. Born August 27, 1935, he was baptized and later confirmed into the Catholic Faith. He married Nancy Dean (Vaught) on April 27, 1960. The marriage was blessed with four children: Jennie Cochran (Jerry), Connie Daoust (Chris), Debbie Vaughn (Bill), and Danny Jett (Jean), ten grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a new great-grandchild on the way.
Pearly started working in the sheet metal trade a few years after high school and retired from there in 1993. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Union Local 2 for 61 years. After retirement, our parents resided full-time at the Lake of the Ozarks, where dad loved fishing, "filling the freezer" with Crappie, and supplying friends and family with fish. He loved being on the lake and taking his grandkids on boat rides.
He and Nancy loved to travel. They would watch the grandchildren and then take off to various destinations for a few days or a week. They took several cruises and trips all over the U.S. When the winters in Missouri got to be a little too much, they would winter in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. Dad loved to play golf and worked to master his game while there. In 2019, they moved back to Missouri full-time.
In 2022, they celebrated 62 years of marriage. Mom got sick at the end of 2022 and passed away on December 1st of that year.
Dad loved to go to coffee in the morning with his buddies, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He made friends wherever he went!
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mildred Jett, as well as his three brothers, Don, Kenneth, and Dennis; and a sister-in-law Charlene.
He is survived by his sister Carolyn (Michael) Beck of Jefferson City, MO, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering with family and friends on December 8, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, to honor both our parents together.
There will be a private burial at a later date.
There are tears here as we will miss them, but there are tears there of joy as they are reunited once again.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
