Obituary For Paul "Brad" Bradford Swihart

Paul "Brad" Bradford Swihart, 72, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on December 6, 2023, at his home in Sedalia, Missouri. He was born on June 6, 1951, in Champaign, IL, the son of Samuel Hoy Swihart and Beverly Maxine (Richards) Swihart, who reside in Bolivar, MO.

Brad was raised in California, where he enjoyed sharing his stories of his surfing days. He moved to Missouri in his early adult life, married/divorced, and had three, beautiful strong children. Brad spent his life working in carpentry and maintenance trades. He worked for many years at the Sedalia Housing Authority until his retirement. He enjoyed his retirement, volunteering at the Salvation Army store, gardening, and being involved in the lives of his nearby grandchildren. Brad was a Christ-centered man who loved sharing stories, helping others, and eating sweets of all kinds. He was a simple and unique man who is deeply loved and will be remembered by friends and family.

In addition to his parents, Brad is survived by his children,
Sarah Elizabeth (Swihart) and Eric Fredrickson of Sedalia, MO,
Monica Sue (Swihart) and Steve Shrawder of Prairie Village, KS,
Samuel Christopher Phillip Swihart, and Emily Anne of Laquey, MO; grandchildren, Katelyn Jo, Koleman Marcus, Kason Xavier Fredrickson, Mark William, Maximus Christopher Mallory, and Samuel Hayden Kuhlman-Swihart; and siblings, Charles Edward Swihart, Debra Catherine (Swihart), Leslie Jobe, Tamara Ann (Swihart) Scaramuzzo, Pamela Sue Swihart, Scott Andrew and Julie Swihart, Kevin Patrick and Brenda Swihart, Kurt Phillip, and Joyce Swihart, Sandra Diane (Swihart) and Frank Zanaboni, Sara Denise (Swihart) and Jeffery Cantrell, and Steven Trent and Joanne Richards.

A private family graveside burial service will be planned for Friday, December 15, 2023, in Bolivar, MO.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Church, Bolivar, MO, in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
