Patty Gene Farris, 84, of Sedalia, MO passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Katy Manor Nursing Home in Pilot Grove, MO. She was born on January 10, 1937 in Sedalia, the daughter of Edgar Lee and Rose Nadine (Lane) Dillon, who preceded her in death.
Patty was a hard worker and held several positions in the Pettis County area. She was extremely proud of her position as a Pettis County Deputy Sheriff, and as a caregiver for Down Syndrome men at a group home in Sedalia. Patty was an avid reader, who also enjoyed being outdoors and gardening. Patty especially loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
She is survived by four children, Victoria Peters of Sedalia, Joyce Dotson (J.O.) of Sedalia, Rebecca Farris of Osage Beach, MO, and Michael Farris (Shelly) of Belton, MO; ten grandchildren, Clayton, Nicole, Marci, Stephanie, Brent, Kyle, Paige, Todd, Trina, and Tori; sixteen great grandchildren; and her close friend and caregiver, Marsha.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son in infancy, Michael Joseph Farris; a great grandson, Broderick Farris; a brother, Billy Dillon; and two sisters, Betty Chiles and Mary Loucks.
There will be no formal service held at this time.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sedalia Animal Shelter in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
