Patricia "Pat" J. (Hoffmeier) Knight, 87, of Sedalia, MO, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on Saturday, October 29, 2022.
The eldest of three sisters, Pat was born on June 9, 1935, in Port Huron, MI, the daughter of Albert Walter Hoffmeier and Elizabeth Patricia (Bowen) Hoffmeier, who preceded her in death.
Pat married her love, Keith W. Knight, on October 12, 1956, in Tacoma, WA. They moved to southern CA to continue life and were married for 26 years before Keith's passing in July of 1982.
As an Executive Assistant, Pat was a loyal and dedicated employee at Sierra Bullets. Initially, at their California location before relocating to its headquarters in Sedalia, MO, in 1990 and retiring at the end of the year in 2011. Not missing a beat, she then started to work for Starline Inc. in January 2012. Pat was committed to the company, working part-time up until her recent illness.
Pat was an avid dog-lover and adoring dog owner to numerous lucky pups, including a special yellow lab, Monte. Pat loved her family deeply, including all her friends whom she considered family. Pat was known to bake delicious cookies and cakes for her co-workers, send cards to the family youngsters for each holiday, and contribute to many with her quick wit and creative writing. Pat was a member of a writing group at the local senior center, writing short stories about her childhood adventures, travels, and beloved dogs.
Pat is survived by her sisters, Judy Campbell and Rosanne Jason: two nephews and their families, Robert Campbell (Laura) and their children, Olivia and Bobby, and Bruce Campbell and children, Nicolette and Kalei: stepdaughter Rebecca Rork; granddaughter Jenifer Romero (Kris), and their children, Maya and Julia, and friends that were like family, Bob and Barbara Hayden, Ellen Young, and many other special long-term friends that she adored.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, brothers-in-law Bill Campbell and Lee Jason, and stepson-in-law, John Rork.
The family thanks you for your love and support and suggests that any memorials be made to Sedalia Animal Shelter or Retrieving Freedom in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
