Pamela Gayle Crafton, 57, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Monday, September 26, 2022, at Bothwell Regional Hospital Center in Sedalia. She was born May 1, 1965, in El Dorado Springs, MO, the daughter of Jim and Ruby Fast. On October 15, 1993, in Las Vegas, NV, she was united in marriage to Joe Crafton, who resides in the home.
She earned her Bachelor’s from CMSU in 1986. She returned to CMSU to earn her Master’s in Counseling and became a Licensed Professional Counselor. Pam retired in May after 28 years with the Sedalia school district as an English teacher, yearbook advisor, and high school guidance counselor.
Pam loved all things bright, fun, and full of life. She was a wonderful photographer, fantastic to talk to, grew beautiful flowers, and loved to get lost in a great book. Pam’s family and friends describe her as “comforting, heartwarming, big hugs, laughter, happy, and a great listener.” She will be dearly missed.
Pam is survived by her husband, Joe Crafton; son, Nick Crafton; granddaughter, Chloee Crafton; parents-in-law, George, and Phebe Crafton; sister-in-law, Karen Crafton; mother, Ruby Fast; and sisters, Angela Sylvester and Jan Beckmann, and many nieces and nephews.
Pam was preceded in death by her father, Jim Fast, and her daughter, Ami Crafton Green.
A celebration of life will be held at 7 pm, Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Rea Funeral Chapel in Sedalia, MO. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm prior to the service.
Honorary bearers will be Mitchell Beckmann, Cecelia Beckmann, Charlotte Beckmann, Wesley Shipps, Valerie Henderson, and Lauryn Sylvester.
